Ju Yang's works, full of cultural abundance, are always touching. She comments that she, lucky as she is, knows what she likes, and keeps cultivating herself in photography. She, as a journalist, embraces a life different from others'. She has got a truthful and detailed picture of lives, happiness and sufferings, as well as her nation and motherland, thus constantly questing for the truth and better serving the welfare of people.

On February 26, Ju Yang was invited to Photo Beijing• "Photography Monthly Talk", where she shared her observations with the audience on the photography practice over the past years, and illustrated the theme of Photo Beijing 2017 "Photography: Origin and Future" from the perspective of news photography.

Get along with and respect interviewees, and immerse ourselves in their lives.

A famous saying by Robert Capa: "Not getting well along with interviewees results in the failure in taking good photos." It means that we, as journalists, should not only keep close to interviewees, but also get along with them and put ourselves in their places.

Accumulating a wealth of professional knowledge and expertise is helpful to the deep exploration of the theme.

The "depth" of stories has full manifestation in substantial interviews and profound insights of great vision. This requires that photographers shall make an in-depth exploration in the specific field, get a true and detailed picture of the theme, and make a correct decision, thus embodying the "internal strength" Therefore, we should make an in-depth exploration in the specific field, and keep a close eye on various social issues.

Accurately grasp the perspective, and render heart and soul to stories;

Pay attention to details, inject enormous vigor into stories.

For details, I think the following aspects are the most important: relax ourselves under the favorable conditions, rather than indulging ourselves in unrealistic desires,; spending more time in refining ourselves, rather than taking photos in haste; relish the happiness in the ambience in which interviewees are not bothered, and capture the meaningful details. Thus, photographers will render readers various stories which are fresh, true, and distinctive.

Today, photography serves as a method through which people get a truthful and detailed picture with the times, thus comprising the most part of our lives.

Those who love photography tend to record lives in lens, where both the world and their feelings and understanding are displayed. We, through our rich experience in photography, add more rhymes into our lives. This is the charm of photography.
