"Fields of Altitude" focuses on the idea of showing the landscape of Rio de Janeiro today, 450 years after its foundation, and presenting people's living there, even living in the limit of social exclusion, display the best views of the city of Rio de Janeiro and the living conditions. In the photos selected for the projection inside the houses, we took into consideration the resident's point of view, the confusion that surrounds the houses, the lack of privacy, and the reality of their daily lives. Living in a community is very different from living in an apartment in the partdowntown. Lives intertwine, community is an extension of housing, and the boundary between private and public is very tenuous.

The city was mapped and the residents selected, as I climbed the hills paraphrasing the landscape. There are 11 locations, 15 characters and, as a result, a small map of Rio de Janeiro including its landscape, its inhabitants and its houses.

In this process, I initially climbed the hill to take a picture of the landscape as seen from there. In a second step, the villager is portrayed inside his house while the landscape photo is projected onto the photographed scene.
