1839-1930 COLLECTION EXHIBITION OF THE ROYAL PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY

Underpinned by both governments, this first ever UK-China Year of Cultural Exchange showcases some of the finest and brightest cultural gems in each country. To celebrate cultural occasion, Royal Photographic Society, the world’s oldest and most influential national photographic organization, will exhibit a delicate selection of 50 photographic works taken in 1839-1930. This exhibition tells the history of photography at a time when it first started and its early development, which is a valuable treasure of the Society as it contains high historical, academic and artistic value. The presentation of high quality historical photographic works has a profound meaning in better understanding and study of development of global photography of more than one hundred years, as well as for research the photography development history.
